Last month, I kicked off a new public conversation series at the Brooklyn Museum.
The endlessly talented artists Questlove and Tom Sachs were my first guests. And they brought a sold-out crowd with them for a brilliant, funny, deeply personal conversation.
Next up is something just as exciting. And it’s just next week.
Thursday, August 4th at 8pm
Weird America! DAVID BYRNE & STEPHEN POWERS in conversation with Tom Healy at THE BROOKLYN MUSEUM
Get your tickets here. Get more info here.
And you can always watch it here. (Any other time. Any other where.)
David Byrne and Stephen Powers are two of our greatest cultivators and collectors of the eccentric and the neglected—both in their own work and in the art of others they’re constantly turning our attention to.
Come see and hear some of the odd beauties they’ve been unearthing.
You’ll also have a chance to take a final look at Steve’s joyful, terrific exhibition:
Stephen Powers: Coney Island is Still Dreamland (To a Seagull.)
It’s a dream for me to jump into the mix of everything happening at The Brooklyn Museum. There’s a a lot more to come too. Stay tuned for talks I’ll be hosting on Thursday nights in the fall.
But right now …mark your calendar for next Thursday, Aug 4th at 8pm.
